The story of Rosh Pinna is a foundational chapter in the history of modern Israel. In 1878, a group of pioneers from Safed attempted to establish "Gai Oni," but faced insurmountable hardships.
In 1882, Jewish immigrants from Romania arrived, renewed the settlement, and renamed it "Rosh Pinna," inspired by the Biblical verse: "The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner-stone." It became one of the first colonies of the First Aliyah, paving the way for Galilean agriculture and community life.
